Amanda Walkup
Attorney & Principal Consultant
Amanda spent the majority of her 33 years as a practicing attorney advising employers of all sizes on employment law matters — from day-to-day policy questions to complex issues involving workplace harassment and discrimination, discipline and termination, leave laws, and conflict management.
Throughout her career she represented employers in state and federal court, in arbitrations, and before administrative agencies including the Bureau of Labor and Industries and the EEOC. She worked with both union and non-union employers in the public and private sector.
After more than three decades of litigation and counseling work, Amanda made a deliberate decision to focus her practice on the areas where she can have the most direct impact: workplace investigations, mediation, and training.
She has participated in hundreds of mediations — both before and after litigation is filed — and has conducted workplace investigations for large public entities as well as small private employers. She has also delivered numerous trainings for managers across a wide range of industries and employer sizes.
Earlier in her career, Amanda worked in the human resources department of one of the area's largest employers — an experience that informs her ability to give legal advice grounded in the practical realities of the workplace.
